Fleischer

A rival of Disney was Fleischer which made animations for an adult audience. The early Popeye and Betty Boop animations were for adults with drug references.

Fred Quimby

Fred Quimby worked for the Hannah & Barbara Corporation wo did Heaven Puss (bellow) and did other classic Tom and Jerry.

This was done using cell based animation this is done by do a drawing then a clear sheet of plastic is put on top of it and then you paint the outline of the drawing then you take off the sheet of plastic and paint out the back and then you photograph it then you go back to the drawing and trace around it with another sheet of plastic but with small differences then you paint it and photograph it again. This must be done 25 times for every second of animation.
